Description: This variety is Otago’s most famous cherry. The variety was grown purely by chance by a family in Alexandra and has since become a cornerstone in Otago as an early variety available for Christmas. The Dawson is a sweet and juicy cherry with a rich burgundy colour.

Description: Sonnet is a large, bright and glossy heart shaped cherry. The inside of the sonnet cherry is a lighter colour with a clear juice giving it a bright translucent redness. A very sweet and desirable flavour.

Description: Samba is a self-fertile tree which produces bright, dark red fruit. The shape is that of a flat heart and is a very crunchy, juicy cherry.

Description: The Santina cherry is a medium sized fruit with moderately sweet flavour. It is highly productive and offers a longer harvest window. It is visually appealing with a glossy black, bright lustre.

Description: The rainier cherry is a large and sweet fruit. At maturity, it appears white and yellow, with a red blush and white flesh. When produced well it is a juicy, sweet fruit.

Description: The lapin is a large sweet fruit which is deep red in colour, and popular in mid-season. This cherry was named from Dr. Karl Lapin who saw the need to develop a self-fertile cherry

Description: Sweethearts are large, crunchy red fruit with a dark red flesh. This is quickly becoming one of the districts major export varieties.

Description: The staccato is a late season variety and a large, firm and glossy fruit. It is a crunchy red and black colour, with a sweet and juicy burgundy flesh.

Produce calendar

Our cherries are available from December until February! Just in time for an extra special treat at Christmas or for Chinese New Year.
