Anne and Colin Dawson

GROWERS AND DIRECTORS

When Colin and Anne moved to Dunedin 15 years ago for Colin to commence working at Otago University commercialising research, they looked for a growing project, something that they always wanted to do.

They found land in Bannockburn that had previously been the lambing flats for Cairnmuir Station and planted their 13 hectare block with Sweetheart and Staccato cherries. While they have continued in their day jobs, Colin has a veterinary background but these days works as a professional director and Anne as a psychologist, they love being involved with the orchard and growing the wonderful Central Otago cherries.

Colin and Anne Dawson are committed to responsible orchard practices and are aspirational in their goal of sustainability. They believe in caring for the land they rely on to grow the fruit and valuing employees that power the business and help Central Otago make cherries famous.
